The Barbour story began in 1894 in South Shields, with the production of waxed coats. Today, the 5th generation of a family business remains in the North East, with Barbour’s headquarters located in Simonside, South Shields. Although Barbour sourcing products from around the world, Barbour waxed coats are still handcrafted at the South Shields  factory, Barbour has a presence in over 40 countries worldwide including the UK, US, Germany, Netherlands, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, New Zealand and Japan. Barbour remains true to its core values ​​as a family business championing the unique values ​​of the British Country Side and bringing quality and glamor to its wares.
